Dock Controls, a Lighter Meal Planner, and Recipe Photos

Search, grocery add, and back buttons move into the nav dock on mobile. Meal planning is cleaner and faster on phone and desktop. Share long recipe links as a text file, upload photos that sync with the rest of your cookbook, and a few visual polish passes across the site.

Controls that belong in the dock

On mobile, search bars, the grocery add field, and back buttons now live in the bottom nav dock with everything else you reach for one-handed.

A cleaner, faster meal planner

The meal planner got a redesign on phone and desktop. It should feel lighter to open and clearer to scan on both.

On desktop, Cookbook loads one cycle week at a time instead of painting the whole plan up front. That keeps the page snappier when your plan spans several weeks. Week tabs, room to drag meals, and less noise around empty slots.

On mobile, the day view got the same cleanup pass: less clutter, clearer slots, and a layout that stays easy to thumb through when you're filling the week.

Sharing long recipe links

Recipe share links still pack the recipe into the URL so Lyfify never stores a copy on our servers. That keeps sharing private, but it can make the link very long.

When a link gets awkwardly long for chat apps, you can download it as a small text file from the share sheet. Send the file, or open it and paste the URL where you need it. Copy still works the same for shorter links.

Photos on your recipes

You can upload a photo for a recipe from the editor. Pick Upload Photo, choose an image, and Cookbook compresses it before saving.

The photo lives with the rest of your Cookbook data: on this device, and synced when you are signed in. When this was written that meant your private Google Drive app folder; since 23 September 2026 it means Lyfify Cloud, where photos are stored as encrypted files. You can still use an https image link instead if you prefer.

Settings → Storage shows recipe photos as their own line item so you can see how much space they take.

A bit of polish across the site

Beyond those features, the site got a round of visual cleanup. The header now follows you as you scroll for easier access, and signed-in account actions sit in a small profile menu. Small stuff, but the pages should feel a little tighter and more consistent end to end.

Give it a try

Open Cookbook on your phone and notice the dock. Plan a week on Meals, share a recipe and try Download Link if the URL is huge, and add a photo on a recipe you care about. If something feels off, email me at [email protected].
