Lyfify as a real app

Do you reach for Lyfify most days? Recipes in the morning, a meal plan at lunch, groceries as the week rolls around. If you do, it earns a spot on your home screen.

Lyfify can now be installed like a normal app. It gets its own icon on your phone or computer, it opens in its own window instead of a browser tab, and it behaves like anything else on your device.

It works even when the internet doesn't

The biggest benefit comes when your connection drops. The app opens anyway. Your recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists are all still there, and you can keep cooking and checking things off. When you're back online, everything syncs up again.

That's because installing changes nothing about where your data lives. It stays on your device, and syncs when you sign in. Installing the app doesn't move anything on its own.

You also don't have to pick a side. The app and the website are the same Lyfify, just open a different way. Both stay in sync, so use whichever is most convenient in the moment.

How to install it

Every device puts the install button in its own place, so there's no single menu to memorize:

  • On most phones and computers, look for a small install icon in the address bar, usually a box with a down arrow.
  • On many devices, you can also find "Install app" in the browser's main menu.
  • On iPhone and iPad, tap the Share button and choose "Add to Home Screen."
  • Anywhere in Lyfify, open the profile menu in the header and tap Install as App under Settings.

Once you pick one, your browser walks you through it with a simple prompt. Confirm it, and Lyfify lands on your home screen, apps list, or Start menu in a moment. The icon even matches Lyfify's look :)

Give it a try
