Introducing Recipe Collections and Linked Recipes
Group recipes into your own collections, plan and filter by them, and link the sides and sauces you always make together so they land on your grocery list too.

Collections for your recipes
Tags and meal types describe what a recipe is. They don't say what you do with it. Some recipes are your weeknight rotation, some are for the holidays, and some are the ones you want to try soon. Now you can group them that way.
Collections live at the top of Recipes. Tap New Collection in the section header, give it a name, and you're set. Each collection gets a cover made from its recipe photos, and a page of its own.
A recipe can sit in as many collections as you like. Deleting a collection never deletes its recipes.
Adding recipes to a collection
Open a recipe and choose Add to Collection from its More menu. On a computer, you can also right-click any recipe card. A sheet lists your collections, and one tap adds or removes the recipe. If the right collection doesn't exist yet, type a name at the top and it's created with the recipe already in it.
On Discover, the same option is called Save to Collection. It saves the recipe to your cookbook and files it in one step.
To rename or delete a collection, open it, or right-click its tile on the Recipes page.
Filter and plan with collections
Collections work everywhere you pick recipes. The filters on Recipes and in the meal picker have a Collections option, and you can choose more than one.
Smart Fill can use them too. Open Advanced Options and set Only From Collections, and the fill only plans with recipes from the collections you pick. It's a nice way to plan a week straight from your weeknight rotation.
Linked Recipes
Some recipes always come with something else. The curry needs its naan. The tacos need that salsa.
When you edit a recipe, there's a new Linked Recipes section at the bottom. Tap Link Recipe, pick from your library, and the links show up in a carousel at the bottom of the recipe. Tap one to jump straight to it.
Linked recipes on your grocery list
Each linked recipe has a Groceries switch. It's off by default. Turn it on, and whenever the main recipe is on your meal plan, the linked recipe's ingredients go on your grocery list too.
They're scaled to the servings you planned. Plan the curry for four, and you shop for naan for four. If you edit the linked recipe, the list updates on its own.
Still in your Drive
Collections are stored the same way as everything else in Cookbook: on your device, and in your own Google Drive when you sign in. They sync between your devices and are included in backups.
