Better Nutrition Estimates, and Smarter Smart Add

Estimate Nutrition now matches ingredients to a local USDA food list instead of guessing. Smart Add can group a recipe on its own, and it keeps ingredients that have no amount.

Better nutrition estimates

Estimate Nutrition now drafts nutrition numbers from a local USDA data set. Instead of the AI guessing the values, it searches a curated list of generic foods inside the app, then matches your ingredients to those items.

The old estimate guessed nutrition numbers for the whole dish at once, so the same recipe could come back with wildly different numbers every time.

Matching to USDA foods makes the estimate significantly more accurate and consistent, but it's still an estimation and will never be fully accurate.

Group Ingredients and Group Steps

Smart Add has two new options: Group Ingredients and Group Steps. Turn them on and the AI can group the recipe itself, instead of only grouping when the source already had groups.

Ingredients with no amount

If a recipe just says salt, with no amount, Smart Add now keeps it on the list so you can fill in the amount. Those lines used to get skipped.
